Rating: PG
Spoilers: Series Two Episode Eight :)
Summary: "So you committed suicide to come back to us. Even though according to you 1973 is a result of you having a tumour in your brain."
Annie stared at him skeptically. "So you committed suicide to come back to us. Even though according to you 1973 is a result of you having a tumour in your brain." She paused a moment thoughtfully. "You really are barking mad."
Sam pulled a face. "I thought you'd understand." There was something else behind his words something she couldn't quite identify. He honestly believed what he'd just told her, completely and absolutely.
She took his hand gently. "If we were the result of some tumour when you jumped off the building we all would've died."
"No, bec-" Sam paused midword, she could practically see his brain ticking over what she'd just said.
"Besides," Annie continued. "Saying this is all in your head means you've got one messed up imagination. All that stuff with Vic Tyler, all the murders and horrible stuff we've seen happen - no one would do that to themselves." She gave him a soft smile. "I think you're giving yourself far too much credit Sam Tyler."
"I came back for you," he said looking quietly distressed. "I gave it all up-"
"And I'm glad you did," she took a step forward, close enough to feel his hot breath on her cheek. "Because now it means you can live. No more voices, no more seeing things, no more claims of the future." She brought his hand up to rest on her heart. "I'm real, this is real. Can't you feel that?"
Sam finally smiled. "Yeah, I do." He kissed her gently.
