Hee hee!!
Yeah, it's official. My love for Life On Mars cannot possibly run any deeper. Episode 4 was an absolute classic that had me in stiches.
First off though, Sam's jacket when he was running was ace, well reminded me of Doug 'Dynamo' Digby from the Grimleys. The seventies was an awesome era for fashion :P.
The bit that had me laughing my arse off though was the moment when they were planting bugs in the car shop. Gene was precariously balanced on Chris's shoulders and they hear a siren go off in the distance.
"SHIT! It's the law!!" "Get down! Get down!" They all immediately hit the deck behind a car. After a pause Sam suddenly leaps to his feet staring at them in disgust "We are the bloody law, you clowns!!"
BWAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!
Also, the really random conversation about treacle pudding was inspired.
Phylis: Enjoying the treacle puddin', Boss?
Sam: It's great (continues talking about very serious case they're working on)
Phylis: What about the mint custard?
Sam: (It's the delivery of this line that got me, he turns to look at her with this funny grin on his face and says absolutely deadpan) It's inspired.
It doesn't even sound funny now I've typed it, but at the time I was wetting myself laughing.
And aww!! Chris has a date!! And then he vomitted all over her face...suave Chris, real suave. Still the moment when he asked for Sam's advice was adorable.
Another bit that made me laugh was the bit in the porn party, ahh Gene, may you never change.
And Tony and Cherie Blair!!! LMFAO!! And the look on Sam's face when he was trying to introduce Gene to the people at the party..."this is Gordon...Gordon Brown...and his wife...err" You can actually see him trying to remember the name of Gordon Brown's wife hehehe.
Yeah, this makes no sense but I had to squee about Life On Mars because it's just that awesome.

on 2007-03-15 04:34 pm (UTC)Sarah, I think ;p
And just think, if he really has gone back in time, then somewhere during the Labour administration, it's bound to come out about Tony and the wifey, and Gordon as swingers in Manchester. Now wouldn't that be fun! ;)
Gotta love the car shop quote, though. Great stuff.
