Hi, finally got around to reading this - sorry it took me so long. :/
I loved it a lot! I love how you described the rain, that was really well done. I like the ending, too - Gene might just end up doing something really stupid in a situation like that. Of course, I'm very curious as to what he actually did do, but it worked well how you didn't tell, so everyone can go figure for themselves if Gene still has a job, or if he is on his way to the wrong side of the bars.
