I'm so relieved!! I was worried, to be honest, that people wouldn't like the ambiguous nature of the story, and especially not knowing exactly how Sam got to be where he is. So its such a relief to know that did actually work out :D
And that line "Gene." Sam watched as Gene fixed a stare on him again. "What did you do?" was pretty much in my head from the first paragraph onwards :D
