This was very, very well written, and just painful - Gene staring at the stain, and then thinking about taking Sam back, and the end, oh, that was just so brilliantly done, just gut-wrenching. The whole fic is just beautiful, incredibly sad and very emotional. Great fic!
Also - I had to look up "sherbet fountain" on wiki. *facepalm*
