I'm not entirely sure what to say. To be honest, singular moments within the episode were lovely (except for the Elizabeth relationship with Mike nobody *blinks* what the hell was with that?? Kind of felt like the writers had hit a 'What the hell should we do with Weir?' block and just decided to shove a possible but not love interest in there.) moments like Rodney and Katie fern watching, Radek being a chess master, and Sheppard and Ronon trying to entertain each other before settling on beer.

But the episode just felt choppy, really choppy. For the first three quarters of the episode I was in a permenant state of 'huh', and those 'Three Hours Earlier' labels did nothing for me - maybe its just 'cause I'm tired but the skipping back thing made it choppy, it could have worked but every moment seemed to short and the damn thing ran on so fast my knackered brain could barely keep up.

But the end. God, I cried - when Carson disappeared into those flames (why the hell did he not run away?! He just handed over a BLOODY BOMB!! my first reaction would be to run like the clappers in the opposite direction!) it didn't really affect me, it seemed too quick and almost too pointless to register at the time, but when it went to Rodney packing up his things, and the look on his face when he was talking to Ronon, that got a lump in my throat. The photo thing was kind of weird though - I swear down that was a screen cap from duet, who was around to take that picture?!? It was weird but kinda cute, if only to get Rodney's reaction.

The bagpipes at the funeral reeked of stereotyping, seriously 'he's scottish lets give him bagpipes' but didn't detract that much I guess because I was too busy trying not to cry at the looks on everyones faces.

The moment that really got me was the bit at the end with Rodney stood alone on the pier talking to ghost/imaginary Carson, it could have gone into serious cheese land but I reckon its a credit to the actors that it didn't. It made me cry (and had my parents looking at me weirdly *sighs*)

All in all, it was an alright episode, as standalone scenes the beginning bit was alright but shoved together I maintain it was too choppy and quick. It feels almost like Carson's death was a waste, he's been a bit of a dick this series but I'm gonna miss him.

I really wish they hadn't felt the need to kill him off.

I never thought about that, but you're right, there was only Cadman around, and why should she take a picture of Rodney and Carson? o_O

I know what you mean about the episode feeling choppy. It gets better when you watch it the second time (obviously... :P). I think it would have worked better if they'd put the characters in a different order. Put Rodney and Carson more up front (maybe starting with Rodney dressing down the two scientists), and Weir, Ronon and Sheppard further back. It might have given the person watching a clue about what was actually going on.

Me, I liked the Weir thing, but that's only because Michael what's-his-name was played by Noah Wyle, and I love discovering old friends in new disguises ;).

Me and me mam spent ages debating whether it was Noah Wyle, in the end I went on Gateworld and they said he was played by someone called...Matthew Del Negro, but he did look uncannily like Noah Wyle.

Still didn't like his relationship with Elizabeth though :P I think you're right about the order of the clips in the episode though - and Rodney with scruffy hair in his blue dressing gown was adorable lol

That wasn't Noah Wyle??? Must've been his twin, then. He totally looked like him.

I know! It well looked like him, but it wasn't him. I didn't mind his character in sunday it jsut kinda felt like it came out of nowhere *shrugs*

And Rodney just generally looked good in this episode now I come to think of it :P
